Incredible Courage???

Should this N.Y. Times photographer ever find himself at the other end of a telescopic lense; the kind with crosshairs, lets say...I hope he is able to draw upon the vast amount of "incredible courage" he dispays here.

In other words, Mr Silva, I hope you stand still and do nothing.

And remember....smile for the camera!

Flight 93 Memorial vs Politically INCORRECT Idiots!

Flight 93 Memorial…A Celebration of Islam!!?

That's right my friends, the battle still rages and it's getting sicker by the minute. I simply don't have the stomach to explain the details of this situation. I will say that the folks on that Heroic Flight achieved more with less time, money, planning or committees than the sub-humans in charge of memorializing them ever could!

I encourage you all to visit Red Sky where you can read about this lunacy for yourselves. The post also kindly includes the contact info for the memorial's committee so that you can share your thoughts with them on this matter.

If they give you any flack, remind them...it's NICE to share with those who have less than you...politically correct even.

LET'S HELP THIS NAVY SEAL! (This is worth a second post!)

As many of you have read, I lost my best friend to AML recently because we were unable to find a bone marrow match for her.
There is now a US NAVY SEAL in need of a marrow transplant and I ask all of you to Cowboy Up and get tested.
I have been in the National Marrow Registry for over 15 years and though I have yet to match anyone, I always make sure to update them on ways to contact me. The testing is easy and painless and the possible results are nothing short of a Miracle!
For more information on this issue, I refer all of you the the King of Bloggers: BLACKFIVE, who has the entire story as well as information on how you may become a bone marrow donor, and possibly save someone's life...maybe even the life of a hero.

PLEASE come to the aid of one who has watched our backs!

Jack Black - We Need You NOW!

Many know this story, I only wish those in power took the time to note its results.

The Muslim Insurgency in Walmart!

I have always backed those who fight the GWOT, but I never expected to find myself face to face with the enemy while shopping for groceries. It took me a while to calm down so that I could post this without using the language it inspired. But now that I have collected myself, I give you: Operation Grocery Cart!

No S***, there I was, minding my own business and trying to detach a grocery cart from its train of brethren. When this proved difficult, I uttered aloud the phrase "Sweet Jesus." Little did I know that this would lead to my first encounter of the extremist kind.

Apparently there was a female behind me (Never saw her - I must pay attention to that "Watch Your Six" advice my pilot friends are always preaching.) She was dressed in the full Burka so that only her eyes were visible. By her accent, I'm guessing that she was not native to the Middle East. (Unless African-American-Bronx is their new national language) I heard this "accent" because she believed my comment was directed at her and she let loose with a string of insults that would have made any terrorist proud. According to her, I am a "Jew, a baby killing infidel, an Israel loving b****" and several other things which I will not repeat here.

(I wonder what she would have said if she knew I am an Irish/Italian Catholic?)

I gotta tell you folks, I was at a loss. Had this been a man, I would have engaged, weapons free, and come down on him like the wrath of God. But it wasn't her gender that stopped me...it was her children. She had two youngsters with her and I was now a teaching tool-proof of all the evils of Americans. I was not about to prove her right. I even went so far as to apologize and explain my comment and why it had nothing to do with her. Surprise, Surprise - this didn't help. She followed me up and down the store preaching her hate and doing no shopping of her own...she was on a mission. I even picked up a package of bacon but that only fueled the fire.
Somehow I managed to keep my composure...right up until she brought up the recent mutilations of our Soldiers....and that was all she wrote!

But then, God intervened.

A police officer had witnessed the entire event from start to finish and as I began to lunge in this crazy woman's direction, he appeared. He informed the woman that her harassment and behavior was not welcome in this store and proceeded to escort her and her family to their vehicle.

He then came back to me and said I had better self control than he'd seen in a long while. I DO love Police Officers, especially those who are former US Marines who are now in Law enforcement.

The moral of this story: Watch Your Six Folks...They really ARE everywhere!

What Next? Goat Milk & Cookies?

When I first saw this Headline: U.S. will give detainees Geneva rights, I wondered if moving to Isreal might not be such a bad idea. At least in that country, they KNOW how do deal with the enemy.
After reading the article, I felt a little better, but not much. As far as I'm concerned they WERE given Geneva rights...those who lived were not shot with hollow points, right?

SAVE A SEAL (and I don't mean the fur coat kind!)

On a more personal note, in addition to the loss of my friend Sandy, I also have family members in the Naval Special Warfare Community. (Those of you who have been there and done that can read between the lines as to what part of that community he serves.)

Retraction!

My dear pal NOTR at ROFASix has advised me that the quote attributed to Robin Williams in my earlier post "Celebrate Diversity" is a hoax. I apologize to all for perpetuating this lie and promise to do a little more research before sounding off as I tend to do.

Still I have to say...Whoever wrote it had a damn good idea!

Celebrate Diversity!

I suspect that most of you read Michelle Malkin already, but this one was simply TOO good to pass up! Please stop by her colum and read The Burka is our Friend.

On another note... I never imagined that I would be backing Robin Williams too often in the area of political thought, but it seems the ole' boy may be coming around. Here's the proof:

Robin Williams' plan for Peace
"I see a lot of people yelling for peace
but I have not heard of a plan for
peace. So, here's one plan."
1) "The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present.
You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good ole boys', we will never "interfere" again.
2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines . They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.
3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.
4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.
5) No foreign "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.
6) The US will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.
7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)
8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them are stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.
11)The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE!
The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball
bat and she's yelling, 'you want a piece of me?' "
Thanks RobbDog for the latter - I LOVED IT!

WE REMEMBER!

One year ago today, our friends in Great Britian were attacked by cowardly murderers who thought they could destroy an alliance between our two nations.
They failed.
Today my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost loved ones on that terrible day along with my heartfelt gratitude for a nation who defines loyalty like no other in history.
We Remember...

Learning to Fly...Again

It's been some time since I've posted anything and as some of you have guessed already, the reason for this is that my dear friend, Sandy, passed away from her battle with AML. It's taken me a long time to even sit at this computer again and I still have an inbox filled with emails that she sent to me right up until the morning of her passing. I considered abandoning this blog completely but, as good friends will often do, Sandy made me promise that I would keep writing even if I felt too sad to do so. She was a gifted writer of both prose and poetry who inspired me in more ways than I can possibly name here and she continues to give me the strength to do things that I'm quite certain I can not possibly do. That is one of the many blessings of friendship.

Thank you J.B., Chris and Frankie for taking the time to send encouragement and understanding my way when I first posted about my friend's illness and thanks to the many others who sent emails filled with prayers and support. Chris, if you're reading this, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, your sister and your family and I hope you'll let me know how she's doing when you can. I am convinced that Cancer patients are some of the most courageous souls I have ever known and I stand in humble awe of the strength they display in situations that would send so many of us into the depths of depression and despair. I have learned much about true strength and true faith from them.

I will return to my usual topics sometime this week, but for now, I again wish to encourage all of you to treasure each moment with those you love. I was blessed with 12 years of the finest friendship a human being can ever hope to know and I hope each and every one of you has the chance to experience something so precious.

Take Care and Be Safe,
Angel
